Edexcel IGCSE English Language Paper 1 Q6/Q7/non-fiction writing/transactional writing/article writing lesson that explores tone and language, for adapting tone for writing to explain, writing to argue and writing to persuade.

We look at an exam task about animal captivity in zoos and use this stimulus to aid students in their learning regarding how to alter language to create a particular tone that matches the purpose and audience of an exam task.

We explore an example article and how the writer employs tone. We also look at how the article begins and ends. Students write out their own introductions and conclusions for their own articles.
