Edexcel IGCSE English Language Paper 1 Q6/Q7/non-fiction writing/transactional writing speech writing lesson that prepares students to write an assessment piece based on writing a speech to a local council about public transport (AO4/AO5).

Students write out their own lists of success criteria based on previous learning, and then explore the mark scheme and indicative content to consolidate their understanding of how to improve their speeches based on their previous notes.

They are then given a detailed checklist to support them in writing out their final assessment pieces.

Students reflect on their learning for reflection sheets at the end of the session.

The unit will then move on to focusing on using sentences and other areas of AO4/AO5.
