Edexcel IGCSE English Language Paper 1 Section A Q5 lesson, exploring an extract from H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald (from the anthology for component 1) and another provided text on rescuing an injured pigeon.

We look at non-fiction texts and AO3, selecting key information and making interpretations, exploring the use of tone, purpose, audience, forms/types, as well as the use of language.

We compare the use of tones throughout both texts and how the writers employ language to convey their thoughts and feelings.

Designed for Edexcel IGCSE Specification A (4EA1), differentiated throughout. It is full of adaptive learning strategies that are useful for a range of abilities.
