Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award
Creative Media Production
COMPONENT 1: Exploring Media Products
Pearson Set Assignment June 2026

This assignment explores how different media products communicate the theme of journeys, both physical and emotional. In the completed Task 1, learners investigate examples from audio/moving image, print and interactive media, analysing their forms, purposes and audiences. In the completed Task 2, the focus shifts to how media creators use genre, narrative, representation and production techniques to construct meaning and engage audiences. Through research, analysis and practical experimentation, the assignment develops a deeper understanding of how journeys are portrayed across the media landscape. Task 2 includes a completed example, a reflection, annotated practical experiments as well as a PowerPoint with speaker notes.

Creative Media Production Component 1 & 2 Bundle (Tech Award 2022) June 2026

Comp1 & Comp2 Bundle Comp1 This assignment explores how different media products communicate the theme of journeys, both physical and emotional. Comp2 Component 2 requires learners to demonstrate their ability to plan, produce and refine a media product in response to a brief. The completed task 1 focuses on generating and developing ideas, experimenting with techniques, and producing sector‑specific pre‑production materials such as scripts, storyboards, wireframes or layouts. Task 2 builds on this by showing how learners apply production and post‑production skills to create their media product, documenting the process through visual evidence, practical experiments, testing, review and refinement. Across both tasks, learners must show a clear creative process from initial concept to final outcome, supported by a portfolio that evidences decision‑making and technical development. Included files are as follow; Fully completed task 1 Fully completed task 2 Task 2 - Practical experiments and responses Task 2 - Visual production log Task 1 & 2 - Template report
