Specification references covered: P2.14, P2.20–P2.21 (Newton’s First Law; inertia; balanced and unbalanced forces; circular motion; centripetal force)

The Topic Mastery Sheet gives the complete Level 3 indicative content from the official Standard paper mark scheme, structured by object (car, driver, shopping bag) with the correct Newton’s First Law reasoning for each. The shopping bag section reproduces the exact language required: “no significant horizontal force; forces balanced; bag continues at similar velocity; bag slides forward until it hits dashboard.” Higher circular motion content is integrated with the Moon’s orbit centripetal force question from the Higher paper.

The Student Exam Practice Sheet (20 marks) includes: Newton’s First Law statement; book on table application; spacecraft in deep space; 6-mark LoR with Level descriptors; seat belt benefit explanation; and Higher centripetal force questions for the Moon’s orbit.
