Classroom Rules Coloring Pages, 50 printable sheets that put listening, kindness, and hard work in front of students in a form they can color. A quiet way to set expectations in the first week.

The Rules on the Page

Each sheet lists numbered rules in plain capitals, worded the way a teacher would say them out loud: listen, raise your hand, work hard, be kind. The heading sits inside a ribbon banner with folded ends on some designs and in tall hollow letters on others. Around the text you find the objects that make the message concrete. A closed book with blushing cheeks. An open hand held up, palm forward, with a small smile in the middle. A sharpened pencil, a crayon in its wrapper, an apple with a curled leaf, a heart with two dot eyes. Sparkles, daisies, and open stars sit in the gaps between the lines of text.

Educational Benefits
  • Rule retention improves when a child spends ten minutes coloring the words.
    • Reading practice happens on every page, since each rule is a short sentence.
    • Ownership of behavior grows when students decorate the rules themselves.
    • Fine motor work comes from filling the narrow strokes of the lettering.
    • Shared language develops as the class refers back to the same four phrases.
How Teachers Put These to Work
  • Color as a class on day one, then post the finished pages around the room.
    • Send a copy home so families know the classroom expectations.
    • Use during a behavior reset conversation midway through the term.
    • Give to a student who needs a calm task after a difficult moment.
    • Print for a substitute so the rules stay visible while you are away.
    • Add to a new student welcome folder.
    • Build a bulletin board from a mix of finished sheets.
