A fun lesson filler that will educate your class on the importance of writing persuasively by sending a letter to Father Christmas convincing him to take them off the naughty list.

It includes a run down on persuasive writing techniques (DAFOREST) and a letter written by Elbert the Elf that demonstrates how to use these techniques in action. It also demonstrates on how to set out a formal letter. I’m using this my MA Year 9 and HA Year 8 but it would be suitable from KS3 to KS4 with some adaptation.

Lesson includes a powerpoint and a printout.

Happy Holidays!

A really nice idea and I've adapted it for use, but the PPT contains a surprising number of literacy errors!
