This lesson is planned and ready to go - all you have to do is copy then share the activity! The puzzle reveals sheet music for We Wish You a Merry Christmas. The sheet music is simple, using treble clef notes C-C, a key signature of one flat, and simple rhythms (shortest note is a quaver). The music can be played on xylophone, keyboard, piano - or any treble clef instrument really! Full sheet music with lyrics and chords is included if you want to lead a class performance from the piano.

I know it can be super busy as a music teacher leading up to the winter holidays. You’ve probably got concerts, shows, reports and testing going on, your festive cheer is running low, and you need something fun for your students’ final lessons before the break. This lesson plan is no-prep and can be used with multiple different age groups - purchase it once and use it for multiple classes! I’d suggest using from ages 9-13 - check out the preview to judge for your own students. Your students will love revealing the puzzle pieces using their theory knowledge and then being able to play a holiday classic on instruments with their peers!

Please Note
This is a Google Slides product - it will only work on google. Upon purchase, you will be able to make a copy of the files which you can then share and assign to your students.

Prefer a printable classroom treasure hunt? I’ve got a printable paper version too!

I hope you and your students love this Christmas activity! Don’t forget to leave a review!
