Looking for a practical, engaging activity that gets learners designing, building and working together?

The Football Obstacle Challenge is a free practical learning resource that encourages learners to create and test their own football obstacle course using recycled materials and simple woodworking techniques.

Designed to support a wide range of ages and abilities, this resource develops creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and practical construction skills through hands-on learning.

Learners progress through three challenge levels:

Bronze Builder – Design and build obstacles using recycled household materials.

Silver Builder – Develop woodworking skills using timber, hand tools and basic construction techniques.

Gold Builder – Plan, design and build stronger, more durable football obstacles suitable for repeated use.
