The Body Clues Map - Emotional Wellbeing Intervention Tool supports children and young people to explore how a difficult emotion presents across different parts of their body, including their thoughts, face, chest, stomach, hands and legs. By identifying their earliest warning signs, pupils can begin to understand when they may need support or a regulation strategy.

The accompanying staff guide provides a clear, sensitive structure for leading the activity without assuming, labelling or placing words into the child’s mouth. It includes carefully sequenced questions, neutral prompts and practical guidance for turning the child’s observations into a simple support plan.

Included:

One-page printable Body Clues Map worksheet
Staff facilitation guide
Structured, good-practice question bank
Guidance for supporting pupils who find body clues difficult to identify
Examples of neutral prompts and leading questions to avoid
Advice for closing the activity safely
Safeguarding and professional-curiosity reminder
