A comprehensive bundle of 38 fully resourced lessons designed to support delivery of the ASDAN Animal Care Short Course.

This bundle brings together my first four Animal Care modules, providing schools, SEND settings, Alternative Provision and FE providers with a substantial bank of ready-to-use teaching resources covering animal care, safety, welfare and responsible ownership.

Rather than following a fixed lesson sequence, teachers can select from 38 complete lessons and challenges according to their learners’ interests, abilities, available facilities and the evidence they need to collect.

The ASDAN Animal Care Short Course is a flexible, portfolio-based programme designed primarily for learners working around Entry Level 2 to Level 1, although activities can be adapted for learners working above or below these levels.

Included in this bundle

Module 1 – Animal Investigation
Explore different animals, their characteristics, habitats, behaviour and care through research, investigation and practical activities.

Module 2 – Safety Around Animals
Develop learners’ understanding of staying safe around animals, recognising potential risks and behaving responsibly when handling or working near animals.

Module 3 – Looking After Animals
Explore the everyday needs of animals, including feeding, housing, exercise, grooming, health and responsible care.

Module 4 – Animals in Trouble
Investigate animal welfare issues, endangered animals, organisations that support animals and ways people can help protect animals in need.

Across the four modules there are 38 complete lesson options, giving teachers the flexibility to create an Animal Care programme that works for their individual learners.
