Interactive AQA GCSE Business revision tool - 29 topics, self-assessment, personalised revision priority and tutor progress export.

An interactive, self-contained revision tool covering the full AQA GCSE Business (8132) Theme 1 and Theme 2 specification - 29 topics in one browser-based resource, no installation or internet connection required after download.

HOW IT WORKS

Students type their first name, then explore a concept map of 29 AQA Business topics. Each topic opens into a detail panel containing:

  • Key definitions, facts or a worked example/case study
  • A clear analysis paragraph explaining the underlying business reasoning
  • A genuine exam-style question with mark allocation, to use as a session starter or independent practice
  • Linked topics (“Connects to”) so students see how concepts relate to each other - exactly the kind of cross-topic thinking AQA rewards in Analysis and Evaluation questions

Students rate their own confidence on each topic (Need to revisit / Getting there / Confident). The tool then automatically:

  • Builds a Revision Priority list, ranking the weakest or least-visited topics first
  • Builds a Study Path, showing current strengths and recommending sensible next topics to tackle, prioritising foundational theory before dependent analysis/evaluation topics
  • Generates a copyable progress summary that a student can paste into an email or message to their tutor

TOPICS COVERED (29 total)

Theme 1 - Investigating Small Business:
Enterprise, risk & reward; Business aims & objectives; Stakeholders; Business ownership; Location factors; Market research; Market segmentation; Business plans; Evaluating business objectives

Theme 2 - Building a Business:
The marketing mix (4Ps); Market mapping; Methods of production; Revenue, costs & profit; Break-even analysis; Cash flow vs profit; Sources of finance; Competitive environment; Organisational structures; Recruitment & selection; Training & development; Motivating employees; Quality management; Procurement & supply chain; Customer service; Economic influences; Legislation; Ethical & environmental considerations; Technology & business; Globalisation.

WHY THIS WORKS FOR SEND AND ALTERNATIVE PROVISION SETTINGS

  • Self-paced - no time pressure, no comparison with other students visible on screen
  • Confidence self-rating builds metacognition and reduces anxiety around “not knowing”
  • Colour-coded progress bars give a clear, low-stakes visual of where revision time is best spent
  • Works equally well for one-to-one tutoring, small group intervention, or independent homework
  • No login or account creation - just a first name, stored locally on that device
