A perfect lesson to introduce Elizabeth I to students studying AQA GCSE History. Students focus on the background events of Elizabeth’s childhood and explain how they shaped the beginning of her reign in 1558.

• Slide 3-5: Starter - What do you already known about Elizabeth I? A 15 multiple choice question sheet which includes printable resource and all answers.
• Slide 6: Starter 2 - Elizabeth’s personality. Students select 3 characteristics they believe a female Tudor monarch should have and are encouraged to justify their choices.
• Slide 7-8: Task 1 - Elizabeth Timeline - Students use the fact sheet to create their own timeline of the key events during Elizabeth’s first 25 years. Includes a printable timeline.
• Slide 9-10: Task 2 - A printable question sheet and slide requiring students to show their understanding of Elizabeth’s early years.

• Slide 12-13: Learning Review - Who am I quiz with answers revealed.
