The aim of these materials is to: * Provide a little information upon Vesalius’ background – the factors that influenced his development as a doctor and anatomist * Introduce his major works, but especially The Fabric of the Human Body, 1543 * Provide an opportunity for students to discuss some of Vesalius’ main ideas and debate their significance in relation to the study of anatomy and development of surgery.
