This resource helps children learn the alphabet through colouring, cutting and reassembling jigsaw puzzles.
Page 1 includes a complete A–Z alphabet puzzle in both colour and black and white. Children can colour the black and white version, cut out the pieces and put the puzzle back together. The pages can be enlarged before printing to make the puzzle pieces bigger and easier to cut out. The completed alphabet puzzle can also be used as an alphabet mat to support letter recognition, phonics, reading and spelling.
Pages 2–4 include smaller 9-piece alphabet puzzles, each featuring nine letters with matching pictures. Every puzzle is provided in colour and black and white so children can colour their own version before cutting out and reassembling the pieces.
The final page includes a blank 9-piece puzzle template for children to create their own alphabet or picture puzzles.
This resource supports alphabet knowledge, phonics, early reading, spelling and fine motor skills, making it suitable for KS1 classrooms, independent work and home learning.
