This is a worksheet for KS2 students which examines 8 different NHS careers and gives information about each one. Each career is explained via a simplified job advert (including: pay, hours, contract type, site and hours worked) and aims to improve students careers literacy and introduce them to the world of work.

The information sheet features 8 different NHS roles - some are clinical (delivering patient treatment) and some are non-clinical roles (behind the scenes jobs that keeps the hospital running effectively). For each profession, there is key information about the features of a job, and a brief description of what they would do on a day to day basis.

To go with the information sheet, there is an activity sheet where students are given 8 people who have expressed what they are looking for in a job (e.g. ‘part time hours’ or ‘more than £50k per year’) and students need to match the individuals up with jobs that would suit them.

The purpose of this activity is to show to students the different features people look for in employment - it’s not just about a ‘gut feeling’, but there are many factors to consider when looking at future employment!
