This ready-to-use A2+ communicative English lesson helps learners develop confidence in giving and responding to advice using natural, everyday English. Through the engaging context of starting a first job, students learn and practise a range of advice structures including should, ought to, might, If I were you…, and It’s a good idea to… before applying them in speaking and writing tasks.

The lesson combines discussion, reading, grammar awareness, controlled practice, freer communication and a writing task, before finishing with an optional research activity exploring where people can seek advice and support in different areas of life.
