A mindful reset for staff before, during and after parent meetings, in person or online, supporting clear thinking and reducing burnout.

This resource offers a short, three-step sequence for any format, parents’ evening, a scheduled meeting in school, an online call, or a parent arriving with no warning at all, to help you stay grounded across a run of conversations that can otherwise leave you feeling reactive and depleted.

It includes a reset to use before a meeting begins, a quick body-scan cue for the moment your own defensiveness or anxiety rises mid-conversation, and a closing practice to stop one difficult meeting influencing the next.

Grounded in the science of how stress affects the brain’s capacity for clear thinking, this resource explains not just what to do but why it works, helping you stay compassionate with parents while still holding clear boundaries.

Created by Lorraine E Murray, with 20+ years of experience who has worked with educators worldwide bringing mindfulness to adults, teens and children, and trained in working with trauma-experienced children aged 3 to 17.
