AQA Psychology A Level topic ‘Research Methods’ for the 2025 specification.

Lesson:
Introduction to research methods with some key facts about RM in the A Level.
Aims: stating aims, the difference between aims and hypotheses.
Hypotheses: directional and non-directional.
Variables: manipulation and control of variables, including independent and dependent variables.
Operationalisation.

AO1 and AO2. Lots of AfL and different activities embedded throughout, including exam questions for each spec point. Finishes with a student led investgation task sheet based on the lesson for students to complete and collect data - “To investigate the effect of background music with lyrics on a participant’s reading comprehension score.”
