Bad behaviour? Don’t blame the parents
If we really want to resolve the issue of problematic behaviour in schools, we need to understand the root causes, argues Gale Macleod. Teachers are inclined to put bad behaviour down to factors outside of school, she says, but maybe they need to ask whether they are doing enough to ensure that all pupils feel like they belong in their classrooms
