Teachers are people,��too, and, as such, they have their own personalities, their own minds and��their own past.��

Unsurprisingly, before teachers were teachers, they were students.��

Some were students who loved maths and could do their eight times table backwards, some enjoyed every subject and sat quietly as they learned, and some found themselves in trouble more often than not.��

We wanted to take a trip down memory lane and celebrate the teachers who once had a rebellious streak. That’s why over on Twitter we asked, “What’s the worst thing you did when you were at school?”

To be fair, Smashing Pumpkins were a good band:

My friend and I lied to our head of 6th in the first week of 6th form saying we'd be absent due to a funeral. We were actually going to see the Smashing Pumkins and had to travel to another city and stop for the night. Mr Perry was a legend so feel very guilty we lied to him!

We kept calling a mobile phone (conveniently hidden on a cupboard) with a ringtone of a laughing child. The teacher was going insane because she had sent 1/3 of the students out and this ringtone was still going...

My friend and I sent all the teachers letters to say they had been made redundant, on stolen school headed paper and faked heads signature. A lot of them took it seriously, didn’t realise at the time how different that prank looked in the adult world

Having learnt that next science lesson we were to learn about electricity and fuses, I nipped into the science lab before the lesson and took all the fuses out of the fuse boxes.

Being a single hearig aid user, I discovered I could make it whistle by winking. Lessons were accompanied by whistling versions of the national anthem.

History really does repeat itself:

Ate an apple in class and threw the core to a friend who used his history book as a bat... he missed the teacher by an inch and the core exploded on the board. Should have won an Oscar for looking so perfectly innocent when the teacher turned round.
