At Maltby Redwood Academy we are committed to promoting vibrant learning experiences that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual and fulfil the unique potential for learning. We aim to help all of our children to develop into self-confident young people who are articulate, literate and numerate; who have self-respect, respect for others and the ability to interact socially. Our children will be encouraged to be enterprising, adaptable and have initiative. We will strive to develop enquiring minds and a sense of curiosity in every child enabling all to share a love of learning and be highly motivated to reach their full potential.

We believe that children who are secure and happy are then confident to question, explore and learn. Our children love learning and so do our staff. We recognise the important role that parents and carers play in ensuring a successful time at school and endeavour to fully involve parents/carers in their child’s education.

Our children will be well prepared socially, morally, spiritually and intellectually for the next stage of their education. At Maltby Redwood, we work on the basis that education is very much a partnership between home and school and as such, we ensure that children are happy in school and achieve their full potential. As well as pursuing academic excellence, we work hard to help all the children in our care grow and flourish as confident individuals with high personal aspirations and a lifelong love of learning.

We provide a happy, supportive and purposeful learning environment and a curriculum that aims to excite and stimulate children’s imaginations and creative thinking. The foundation subjects are studied through topic-based themes and cross-curricular links are made wherever possible. Topics have been developed with an emphasis on global culture and cover the traditional subjects of History, Geography, Music, Art, Design and Technology and P.E. as well as beliefs and faiths from around the world. Knowledge is built upon each year and opportunities to revisit learning is embedded into the curriculum.

We want children to enjoy and engage with their learning and look back on their days at school with fondness. We aim to bring every child’s education to life by providing real life opportunities such as presentations, visits, workshops, productions and experience days. We want to ensure that every child’s learning journey is brought to life with as wide a variety of experiences as possible.
