An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cheltenham Bournside School as a Teaching Assistant. We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant with Communication and

Interaction specialism to work within our Special Educational Needs Department, supporting the effective operation of the SEND provision on a day to day basis in school. Teaching Assistants with experience of supporting with Maths, English and Science are especially desirable. We would also welcome applications from HLTAs with the salary being adjusted accordingly.

Teaching Assistants play a vital role in our SEND support and provision as part of the SEND Team which is led by the SENDCO and the SEND Lead Practitioner. They are fully immersed into our subject departments, working closely with subject leaders/teachers both in the classroom and during departmental meetings to ensure students with SEND make excellent progress. Teaching Assistant support students through 1:1 interventions, small group work as well as main classroom support.

Early application is recommended as our first interview times will be Friday 17th July (AM) with further interviews to be held of Thursday 20th August 2026.

Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre is a mixed, non-denominational academy school for students aged 11 to 18. It is located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and currently has about 1,700 students and 360 sixth form students.

It settled in its current location of Warden Hill in the early part of the 1970s and converted to academy status in 2011.
