Delaney School is a specialist primary school supporting pupils aged 4–11 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated complexities.

We are seeking caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to join our team and help create a learning environment where every child can achieve, belong and thrive.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to support pupils' learning, development and wellbeing. You will help create a positive and nurturing environment where children feel safe, engaged and ready to learn.

You will support pupils both in the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping them to develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed.

We Are Looking For

Essential

• Experience working with children or young people.

• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.

• A patient, resilient and nurturing approach.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

• Experience working with pupils with SEND, SEMH or ASD.

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

• Knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies.

• Understanding of trauma informed and relational approaches.

• Experience within a specialist school or SEND setting.
