In addition, the department contributes to a number of 14-19 science initiatives and has strong links with Manchester University (including providing Initial Teacher Training placements for many years), Lancaster University and UCLan and has contacts at companies such as Rolls Royce and WSP. The department also supports the ethos of the college by involvement in charity work and extra-curricular activities.
The subject area works closely with the other sciences and wider college teams in the College, including the A Level Biology and Chemistry as well as BTEC Applied Science staff.
