Job overview

Based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, Wykham Park Academy is a comprehensive secondary school committed to supporting outstanding outcomes for all students. With students who are eager to succeed, an aspirational team of staff, and supportive colleagues both within the academy and across the wider Multi-Academy Trust, Wykham Park Academy offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and talented individual looking to develop their career, with opportunities for future progression within Aspirations.

At Wykham Park Academy, you will become part of a vibrant learning community that offers excellent professional development opportunities and clear pathways for career progression. Appraisal within Aspirations is centred on each individual's Personal Professional Vision, supporting staff to achieve their professional goals.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a passionate Learning Support Assistant.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people. Working closely with teachers, students, parents and external professionals, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence and achieve their full potential. The role involves building positive relationships, promoting independence, supporting learning both in and out of the classroom, and contributing to an inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Our Curriculum.

As part of the Aspirations Academies Trust at key stage 3 our school offers a unique year 7 and 8 curriculum model . Combining the best of Primary and Secondary practice, the year 7 and 8 model provides students with a smaller staff team than traditional models which aids a seamless transition from Primary to Secondary School. By doing so we prioritise students' self worth through fostering meaningful  relationships with a smaller team of staff. Teams of staff collaborate to ensure the curriculum is engaging, challenging and relevant. Key stage 3 teachers teach the year 7/8 classes a number of times a week and during this time, with support from the year 7/8 team and shared resources and planning, would be teaching a combination of subjects.

The Academy is recruiting for someone who shares our drive to engage and motivate every child to achieve their potential, who will play an important role in our unique and growing Academy.

What we offer:

· CPD that starts as soon as you are appointed, with a clear induction programme
· A professional progression model to enable you to make further progress in your career
· Great students - you can make a massive difference to them
· Clear behaviour systems
· A feedback policy focused on closing the gap– we do not have onerous/impossible marking policies
· Collaborative planning with centralised, shared units of work and resources
· A beautiful campus situated on the very edge of the Cotswolds, only half an hour from Oxford and an hour from London by train
