WHAT KILLED THE BIG APE???

The big ape entered New York harbor on the freighter from his island.
He was exhibited like a freak.
People taunted him.
The partner warned the boss of the danger but the boss was too swayed by the money.
He said he would marry the woman.
Finally, the ape burst out.
He escaped into midtown.
He attacked a train as if it were the dinosaurs he had known.
The boss, the partner and the woman came out to direct the police in getting
the ape.
But the ape tossed the police cars aside to get to the woman.
He gently picked her up.
When cornered by the police, he began to climb up on the buildings.
He got to the Empire State Building, the highest; and climbed.
The mayor called the Air Corps.
A squadron of fighters was dispatched.
They began circling, shooting the great ape.
He caught one of them but was mortally wounded.
He hugged the woman sadly and swooned and fell.
The woman was saved by the men.
The boss surveying the broken hulk of the great ape on the pavement below and
concluded: It was beauty that killed the beast.
