This resource covers light sources, darkness as the absence of light, reflection, and how shadows form when opaque objects block light travelling in straight lines.

It is a ready-to-teach PowerPoint scaffold for an hour-long science lesson on light and shadows. Children carry out a torch-and-object shadow investigation with predictions and results, complete a shadow clock challenge tracking the Sun across the day, and finish with a true-or-false rematch quiz.

Vocabulary slides teach opaque, translucent and transparent, and a sun safety section is included.
