Transform the familiar nursery rhyme This Little Piggy into a fun and imaginative Ready, Steady, Write! creative writing day.

Children begin by exploring and retelling the rhyme before creating their own pig finger puppets, with step-by-step instructions included within the presentation. They can then use their puppets to retell the rhyme to others.

The main writing challenge asks children to choose one of the five little pigs and write a diary entry about their day, considering what their pig did, why they did it and who the other pigs might be.

An additional origami pig activity is also included if time allows.
