Stone Age for Year 3

With the National Curriculum in mind, I have created a high-quality history lesson designed to introduce Year 3 students to everyday life during the Stone Age. This lesson supports the National Curriculum’s objectives by helping children develop a secure understanding of chronology, explore how people lived in the past, and use historical evidence to understand changes over time.

Lesson Focus

This engaging lesson introduces students to daily life during the Stone Age, helping children understand how people survived, where they lived and what they used.

Students will explore:

Who the Stone Age people were.
How hunter-gatherers found food.
What Stone Age people ate.
The types of homes and shelters they lived in.
The materials they used to make homes and tools.
How Stone Age life was different from life today.
