In this activity, students will examine the rapid military expansion of the Mongol Empire from the unification of the Mongol tribes under Genghis Khan in 1206 to the eventual collapse of Mongol rule across Asia and Eastern Europe. They will also explore how changes in leadership, succession, and culture contributed to the decline of one of history’s most powerful empires.
