In this activity, students will explore how the ancient Greeks understood their gods as human-like beings who lived at real places, required worship through prayer and animal sacrifice, and directly influenced everyday life. Students will also examine Greek beliefs about the afterlife, including the journey of the soul across the River Styx and the judgment that determined a person’s eternal fate in the underworld.
