In this activity, students will examine why the Allied Powers were able to defeat Germany on the western front in 1918, with a focus on the German Spring Offensive, the entry of American forces, and the adoption of combined arms warfare. They will also explore how the Hundred Days Offensive, culminating in the breakthrough of the Hindenburg Line, brought World War I to an end with the Armistice of 11 November 1918.
