Part 4 of this series focuses on solving equations. It first explores 1-step, 2-step and 3-step equations through the idea of function machines and reverse operations. The second part of the resource then explores solving equations with a variable on both sides of the = sign. The emphasis is on developing understanding of reverse operations and building a blue print for solving a range of different equations.

Ideally, one will have worked through parts 1 to 3 of the series, but this can also be used as a standalone resource. A stepped approach is used to develop logical and critical thinking, supported by animations. Practice questions are included to consolidate the learning.
